Come, have a peek into my baking journey which has meandered through many cities teaching me how to layer my bakes with new flavours and techniques.
I started my journey a decade back when I wanted to create healthier treats for my toddler with local, organic produce. This led to a food blog, baking classes for kids and eventually creating recipes that has finally led me to win a GREAT TASTE AWARD!
I moved to Mumbai during my second pregnancy and felt a need to create healthy treats for new mums that were nutritious for the new mum and at the same time tasted good for my toddler. This led me to create my Lactation Cookies, Granola Bars and Energy Balls with nutritious ingredients like mixed local seeds and nuts, coconut, dates and honey – these became an instant hit amongst my local community.
Experimenting with flavours and creating new recipes remain my passion – this has recently led me to winning a Great Taste Award 2022 for my Vegan Lemon Pistachio Cake in my first ever entry!
A decade back in Delhi, I was a mum in my 20’s with zero idea about cooking or baking and I was always in search of nutrient rich bakes to give to my toddler who had a sweet tooth like his mom. This led me to write a food blog experimenting my way through recipes using wholesome ingredients and natural sugar. I also started the first kids baking classes in Gurgaon getting featured in Hindustan Times and BBC Good Food Magazine that year.
Creating new recipes and experimenting with new flavours has been a passion since then and some of my bakes like Gulab Jamun Cheesecake Jars and Lemon Pistachio Cake and Lemon Pistachio Barfi help me to create fusion desserts experimenting with Indian and Western Cuisine. London has now been home for the last four years – St. John’s Wood and it’s bustling expat population helped me to continue my passion. With the help of local moms who had tasted my treats I was given orders for celebration cakes that had 30-40% less sugar that regular bakery cakes, made with the highest quality organic ingredients and just as scrumptious as any dessert can be! I have since moved to the suburbs and continue taking orders. Experimenting with flavours and creating new recipes remain my passion – this has recently led me to winning a Great Taste Award 2022 for my Vegan Lemon Pistachio Cake in my first ever entry! My kid friendly recipes are featured regularly in two Delhi Publications kids’ magazines. My kids remain my strongest critics and keep me grounded. A product only leaves my kitchen after being taste tested rigorously.
